Naliko grew up on O’ahu and graduated from Kailua High School in
1970. He attended Leeward Community College and the University of Hawai’i
majoring in Sociology while employed by Ameron HC&D Ltd.
In 1980, Naliko
and his wife, four children and his mother moved to Oregon finding better
work conditions, lower cost of living, and better education system. During
his years there Naliko saw all four of his children graduate from college
and also obtained his BA in Human Resource Management from George Fox
University
In the Portland
area, Naliko co-founded the Hawaiian Cultural Awareness Education organization.
It coordinated Hawaiian music concerts, fundraising lu’au, seminars,
and workshops at which the Hawaiian population could come together
to
enjoy their shared heritage with friends and neighbors.
During his
years in Oregon, Naliko became a citizen of Ka Lahui Hawai’i and
returned home to Hawai’i a number of times to attend legislative
sessions as a delegate from Moku Honu.
Just the
week before the Reinstatement of the Lawful Government, The Kingdom
of Hawai’i
in March of 1999, Henry Noa spent a week in Oregon educating Kanaka Maoli
of their inherent sovereignty and the goal of bringing our Queen’s
Government out of exile. Henry spent that week as a guest in Naliko and
Kaleo Markel's home.

Henry personally provided
Naliko with a one on one tutoring about what had taken place throughout
the sovereignty years, the personalities, the diverse groups, the de facto
government, and the true History of what had happened to my Kupuna’s
nation. It was an eye opener for someone who had been negative about the
restoration of the Kingdom form of Government.
Naliko promised himself
and Henry that he would come home soon to join the fight. That promise
was realized in August of 1999 when Naliko and his wife Kaleo settled
in Puna and joined up with Uncle Robert Keli’iho’omalu and
Uncle Sam Kaleleiki.
Naliko hopes that we
all can help find Patriots in all seven of the Hawai’i Island districts
who will be strong enough leaders and organizers in their own right so
that we can enroll more and more voting and participating Kingdom citizens.
Only strong participation in and allegiance to the lawful government by
larger numbers of Kanaka Maoli and their supporters can guarantee the
existence of our Nation.
In Unity there is Sovereignty.
